Jonathan Viney - Consultant
Jonathan’s experience of sales management and strategy stretches over 27 years, across a variety of industries from Retail, FMCG to Telecommunications. During his many roles in as Sales Manager/Director he has set up, as well taken over poor performing teams and turn them in to highly productive units. During his 15 years at Vodafone, he was credited as one of the management who merged 5 disparate sales teams, which in 6 months developed a leading position with 74% market share. He was also responsible for setting up and running Vodafone UK first International sales team responsible for over £300 million of turnover.
Since 2004 Jonathan has set up and run a very successful consultancy which specializes in improving the sales performance of SME’s. Jonathan’s unique experience and approach in working with SME’S, means he is able to work with owner/MD and the whole team to devise and implement strategies that reflect the culture and financial environment of the companies. Through a mixture of business models and investigation skills, he has been able to identify a clear plan for improvement, leading from the front and transferring skills and knowledge to everyone during every engagement. The results have been a wide range of success from single digit growth to a very impressive 256% increase in sales over a 6 month period.
The unique breadth of experience involving engagements with VC’s has led to Jonathan be asked to present interesting and motivating seminars for a number of industry bodies including the IoD and Business Link. This has also taken Jonathan in to becoming a mentor for the Set Squared Partnership, which is run by Bristol, Bath, Surrey and Southampton Universities for startup technology companies.
